Leo Bobadilla—Chief Operating Officer
As chief operating officer, Leo Bobadilla's responsibilities include providing leadership to the Business Operations team, which includes facilities, construction, transportation, food services, police, business assistance, and related business areas. The department supports over 200,000 students and approximately 29,000 full and part-time employees every day. Its team manages a real estate portfolio with approximately 28 million square feet of facility space in over 600 buildings at over 300 locations. On average, it transports 26,000 students every day and serve over 230,000 meals daily. In addition, we oversee a +$1 billion capital building program with renovations, expansions, new schools and other related district-wide improvements.
Bobadilla received a bachelor's degree in organizational management at Warner Southern College, a master's degree in business administration at Webster University's School of Business and Technology, and a Juris Doctor degree at Florida A&M University's College of Law. Bobadilla is a certified general contractor and a licensed attorney in the state of Florida and is a LEED accredited professional and a PMI project management professional. He has held various management/leadership positions in other school districts, in local government, and in private industry prior to joining HISD.
